Description
| - Project aims at the preparation of LPE-grown thick films of the Ce- and Pr-doped Lu-rich aluminum perovskites (YxLu1-xAlO3) and garnets ((YxLu1-x)3Al5O12) using novel MoO3-based flux. Furthermore, novel high density SrHfO3 and Lu4Hf3O12 hafnates, doped with Pb2+ and Ce3+ (Pr3+,Bi3+), respectively, will be prepared in powder form by sintering and sol-gel technology and their preparation in the film form will be considered as well. Luminescence and scintillation performance will be studied. VUV-UV-VIS time-resolved spectroscopy in 10-450 K temperature range is used in the former, while radioluminescence, scintillation decay and light yield measurements under alpha-emitting radioisotopes is employed at 295 K in the latter. Occurrence of defects will be studied by means of thermoluminescence and EPR techniques within 10-500 K with the aim to understand their nature, role in the energy transfer and capture processes in the host, and dependence on technological conditions. Application potential of prepared systems will be tested in the X-ray detection with high 2D-resolution. (en)
