An improvement of the design and operation of biofilter treatment systems for hazardous pollutants through a more fundamental understanding of reactor dynamic and long-term performances using different and new kinds of packing materials, biocatalysts (a mixed bacterial-fungal, bacteria and fungal populations) and biological characteristics of biofilm (a morfology of immobilized cells and changes in the mixed culture composition). In addition, experiments to asses biofilter performance under conditions that mimic true industrial operations and procedures of enrichment culture preparation and cell immobilizations for individual scale applications will be carried out during degradations of gasoline and other volatile organic compounds.
Porovnány provozní charakteristiky biofiltrů inokulovaných čistým bakteriálním kmenem a směsnou mikro (cs)
Tests of the styrene biofiltration using a mixed microbial culture under simulated industrial winter conditions have been carried out. Performance characteristics of the biofilters inoculated by the individual bacterial strain and by a mixed culture were (en)
