Description
| - In a previous study of microfungi associated with bark beetle S. intricatus and the decline of oaks, Geosmithia species appeared among the most frequent fungi. Geosmithia is a polyphyletic taxon with two species belonging to Hypocreales and eight to Eurotiales. The main aim of our project is to find a relationship among the cambial occurrence of geosmithias, presence of insects and the decline of oaks and contribute thus to knowledge on ecology. We have isolated over 70 strains from Scolytus/Quercusassociation and the sampling will continue in areas with prevailing oak woods, from different oak species, trees with various degrees of disease and other insects feeding on the wood/bark interface. Morphological study and analysis of rDNA sequences confirmed that our isolates differ from species described so far and belong to Hypocreales. - Fylogenetická analýza rDNA sekvencí rodu Geosmíthia prokázala, že osm druhu náleží mezi Eurotiales a dva druhy do řádu Hypocreales. Geosmithie jsou považovány za vzácné, avšak v našich předchozích studiích (GAČR 203/97/0037) jsme je často nalézali v kambiu odumírajících dubů napadených kůrovcem Scolytus intricatus, v jeho chodbičkách, na těle hmyzu i larev. Byly nalezeny čtyři morfologicky rozlišené skupin geosmithii z nichž pouze jedna přibližně odpovídala druhu G. putterilln. Cílem projektu je objasnit vztah mezi kambiálním výskytem geosmithii, přítomností hmyzu a odumíráním dubu a tak přispět ke znalostem o ekologii tohoto systému. Izolovali jsme více než 70 kmenů z asociace Scolytus/Quercus a sběry budou pokračovat v oblastech s převládajícími dubovými lesy, na různých druzích dubu a jiných opadavých dřevin, na dřevinách s různým stupněm napadení a dalších druzích hmyzu.
