Description	Receptor imaging with radiolabelled receptor-specific peptides has proven to be a valuable method for the visualization of neuroendocrine tumours and their metastasis. A new application is the use of these peptides for receptor-mediated therapy. The project is focused to the complex preclinical study of pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of new radiolabelled receptor-specific peptides for diagnosis or treatment of somatostatin (or cholecystokinin B/gastrin) receptor-positive tumours. As a high andlong-term retention of radioactivity in the kidneys and thus radiation-induced nephritis is a dose-limiting factor in targeted peptide radiotherapy, different possible approaches to the kidney saving will be also studied. The project is aimed to improve our understanding of future perspectives and limitations of peptide radionuclide imaging and therapy. (en) Použití radioaktivně značených receptorově specifických peptidů pro zobrazení nádorů neuroendokrinního původu a jejich metastáz je velmi cennou diagnostickou metodou. Další zajímavou možností je využití těchto peptidů pro cílenou terapii nádorů. Předkládaný projekt je zaměřen na komplexní předklinickou studii farmakokinetiky a distribuce nových radioaktivně značených receptorě specifických peptidů směrovaných pro diagnostiku nebo léčbu nádorů s vysokou hustotou somatostatinových receptorů, případně receptorů pro cholecystokinin B/gastrin. Vzhledem k tomu, že vysoká a dlouhodobá kumulace radioaktivity v ledvinách je nejdůležitějším omezením pro cílenou radioterapii pomocí peptidů z důvodu možného navození radionefritídy, bude součástí projektu i studie možných postupů a přístupů ke snížení radionefrotoxicity při této léčbě.
