"The project is aimed at the synthesis of new magnetic nanoparticles of composite character derived from hexagonal ferrites, employing similarity of the spinel and hexagonal ferrite structures. Properties of the nanoparticles will be adjusted by variation of the chemical and phase compositions and particle sizes heading to the main goal: to find materials for the magnetic cores possessing suitable saturated magnetizations, coercivity, remanence and the temperature coefficient of magnetization with respect to potential medical applications, in particular magnetic hyperthermia. A detailed study will be devoted to the effects of the phase composition and size of the particles on the transition from the ordered (ferrimagnetic) state to the superparamagnetic behaviour.
