"Preparation and properties studies of scntillating phosphate glasses with increased efficiency"@en . . "Recently we have developed an original concept of transferefficeincy increace based on the embedded energy-guiding sublattice of Gd3+ in the phosphate glass matrix. It allows to lower energy transport losses and enhance the overall scintillation efficiency and to apply these glasses as low cost scintillators. The fundamental conditions for an operating scintillator with enhanced efficiency is a glass prepared by technique guaran teenig stable and reproductble properties and chemical durability. Accordingly, preparation and characterisation of doped Na phosphate glasses with Gd concentration above 20% are the central theme of this project. Its aims are to find optimum composition and preparation conditions of stable and chemically durable phosphate glasses from the point of view of luminiscence and scintillation properties, to study scintillator efficiency as a function of Gd and emission centres concentrations and to characterise energy transfer processes."@en . .
