"Within the framework of the proposed project, we shall be looking for answers to the following questions for the studied structural materials. First, the initial concentrations of point defects (vacancies) in the studied alloys, i.e. after sample preparation without hydrogen, will be found. Next, we determine the energy and dose suitable for hydrogen implantation in order to subsequently study created defects using positron annihilation spectroscopy. For samples with hydrogen introduced using three distinct methods, hydrogen-defect interactions will be investigated. These will be deduced from the changes of the annihilation parameters of electron-positron pairs due to hydrogen doping. By correlating simulated implantation profiles and calculated positron characteristics with these changes we shall try to find out what is their origin on the atomic level. Last but not least, we shall attempt to relate positron measurements done by means of monochromatic slow positrons to atomic force microscopy results.
