The aim is to obtain insight into the complex mechanisms of regulation of the expression of selected genes, the role of the products of these genes in the control of basic cell functions in normal and pathologically modified cells, in the development of the organism, in the regulation of immune events particularly during infectious, tumor or autoimmune diseases, including their role in the fertilization process. Knowledge of the structure of selected genes and of general mechanisms of their regulation and function will be a theoretical prerequisite for elaboration of procedures for future targeted therapeutic intervention, for potentiation of the immune mechanisms of the organism and for modern biotechnologies."@en .
