Interaction of atomic, molecular and cellular structures with electromagnetic fields and particle beams will be studied together with new methodologies of obtaining image, spectral and metrological information, particularly for biomedical applications. Electron beams, produced, controlled and detected by novel methods, will serve in examination of solids, including radiation-damage-free techniques, as well as of holographic phenomena and problems of joining, machining and microfabrication of materials. Light beams, generated in high stability lasers, will be used for development of methods of the length metrology, non-destructive manipulation of microobjects, profilometry and generation of microstructures by fotopolymerization.
