"This work deals with a reconstruction of a shielding of HPGe detector in the National Radiation Protection Institute (NRPI) in Prague carried out with the aim to lower the background values and thus achieve minimum detectable activities sufficient for the measurement of samples with low radionuclide content. The lowering of the shielding background has been achieved by supplementing the current shielding with additional lead and copper and feeding the inner space of the shielding with evaporated liquid nitrogen.
