So far the attention has been paid especially to the use of suitable additives for low-viscosity bituminous binders or asphalt mixes in the form of synthetic waxes, fatty acid amides or zeolites. In this connection it is possible to speak about first and second generation of warm mix asphalts, which will be successively replaced by following trends oriented on processing temperatures about 100-100\u00B0C. The next generation will be already based on chemical additives and modified production processes, which will allow modification of some bitumen characteristics or will in other way adjust asphalt mix composition. In connection with the first and second generation of warm mix asphalts a research project has been realized in the years 2009-2011 focused on gaining more detailed experiences about the rheological behavior of this type of mixes. Sets of testing stiffness modulus, dynamic modulus and fatigue behavior have been done including the introduction and monitoring of boundary values, which the mixes should fulfill.
