"This paper focuses on the \u201Cstate-of-the-art\u201D in intelligent transportation systems, specially an in-vehicle real-time monocular pre-crash vehicle detection system. The system acquires grey level and color images through a forward facing camera. Recognizing and tracking objects in images taken by a moving camera (or fixed camera within a moving car) is much more challenging than real-time tracking with a stationary camera. Not only is there motion of the objects in the images, but also relative motion between the camera, the objects, and the environment.
