"Bioinspired but functional property based biomaterials are the present day’s leading scope of research where both biologist, chemist, and material scientists are involved to find out some innovative products and /or solutions because of their demand in various aspects i.e. food / agro industries to biomedical field. Therefore, the Gel and Hydrogel research team of Centre of Polymer Systems, has given effort to carry out their research on the aspect of natural polymers / biopolymers / biodegradable polymers to achieve some innovative bio- based materials / products etc. Effort has been given on natural based polymeric materials; polysaccharides form the prominent member due to its non-toxicity, biocompatibility, availability in large variety of composition and properties. Our ongoing research is mainly dealing with biosynthesis and characterization of “Bacterial Cellulose”, “Hydrogels” and %22Polypeptoid” etc. Some significant properties of these polymeric materials and their suitable applications will be discussed during presentation." . .
