Typical for postmodernism - as a theory and culture - reflecting unconstricted and hastily advancing school of thought proclaiming pluralism of values, including authority. However, even postmodernism cannot avoid subordination to certain social regularity that forms the base of the continuity of mankind' s development. One of its pillars is the generally recognized authority of the school, as an institution, and teachers, as its advocates. In pedagogic theory, authority is recognized as an indispensable educational elemnt, whose substance, however, is variable, because it goes hand in hand with changes in society. Like any ideological trends, postmodernism, too, reflects the changes. The objective of our study is to demostrate the contigencies, relations, and analogies that correspond to scientific concepts of authority in teaching processes, alon with positive trends in the postmodern understanding of society."@en .
