"The publication deals with factors which influence the success of college students and with a description of a successful college student. Based on the analysis of the collected data it was confirmed that student\u2019s success can be influenced by a variety of factors. Nevertheless, the students themselves seem to be of the prominent importance, especially their personalities (features of character, aptitude and personal maturity), their knowledge and skills, and their behaviour. The following skills are important for achieving a success: self-management and time-management, work with information, the art of being surrounded by the right people and keeping in touch with desired persons, communications and self-presentation skills. The successful student is aware if their aim and works towards it even during their studies. That is the reason they choose the school they want to be in and they like being in it. They are active in obtaining information as well as in communicating with the teachers. They often work more than their duties dictate. They respect the given rules. In agreement with the personal aim they use their studies to obtain experience (they often work on projects, travel abroad, look for jobs and work while studying). The gain data shows that at the time of graduation a successful student has useful specialized knowledge and language skills, they have a realistic idea about their value at the job market and the position they want to apply for, they are well-oriented in the environment and the rules of the university, they are well known among their peers."@en .
