"This paper focuses on the manager of innovation and his integration into the organizational structure. If a company wants to gain a competitive advantage, it should engage in innovation and it should integrate the innovation manager into the organization. Most Czech firms, however, completely ignore this fact and the search for innovative ideas starts only if the company reaches a negative profit and customers do not seem to be interested in the products. In Western Europe, the employment of manager of innovation is commonly occurring factor, whereas in the Czech Republic there are such companies very rarely found. The paper is dealing with inspiring the Czech companies, how to increase their capacity for innovation with creating executive positions of innovation manager as foreingn companies are doing.
