"We take ?Managerial Tacit Knowledge? to mean practical know-how gained on the basis of experience (personal or mediated) used by managers in their work to achieve their goals. We completed the first stage of our research study at the end of 2006. At present, the research problem has been defined as follows: ?Which personnel and what experiential and situational factors influence the process of Managerial Tacit Knowledge creation and formation?? We chose interviews with managers as the most appropriate form to collect the data. A certain specificity of this form of data collection is the use of terms maps. The managers construct these terms maps themselves from a set of 30 terms at the beginning of the interview. The interviews were recorded; and the (process of the) creation of these terms maps was also recorded, as was the basic data concerning the manager (e.g. age, length of service, type of education, etc.).
