"The purpose of the presented work is to examined the effect of calcium based inorganic impurity originating from biotechnological L-lactic acid production from cheese whey on synthesis of poly(L-lactic acid). The influence of impurity was investigated in the range of 0 to 1 wt. % and the changes in molecular weight, melting and glass transition temperatures were studied by the analytical technique gel permeation chromatography and differential scanning calorimetry. Results show moderate reduction of molecular weight with rising amount of the impurity up to 0.75 wt. %. The higher concentration caused high extend of decomposition reaction and no yield was obtained. The thermal properties investigation shows noticeable reduction of melting temperature and slight decrease in glass transition temperature. The results revealed significant role of purification of lactic acid before its polycondensation to high molecular weight polymer."@en . "[B2031A2F0C34]" . "polylactide, lactic acid, impurity"@en .
