"The aim of the work was to evaluate the total phenolic content, antioxidant capacity and nitric oxide scavenging activity of chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa Michx.) extracts. Two cultivars, namely \u00B4Nero\u00B4 and \u00B4Viking\u00B4, were used. The methanolic extracts of this fruit species appeared to have high total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and nitric oxide scavenging activity (NOSA). Higher values of TAC and NOSA were determined in the cultivar \u00B4Nero\u00B4 which is Czech in origin. In fruit of the \u00B4Nero\u00B4 cultivar the highest content of total phenolics (TPC) was also observed.
