"Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a relatively new type of material which has become increasingly used. Its outstanding features are generally known (compressive strength higher than 150 MPa, tensile strength higher than 20 MPa and high durability). Other features, like the bond between steel reinforcement and concrete, is proving to be a major factor in the design, because it directly affects the required anchorage length of the used reinforcement. UHPC should be used in complex structural details like joints of precast elements. One of the aplication of UHPC joints could be in composite steel concrete bridges with a precast bridge deck. However, the joints of precast elements, where also headed studs are anchored, may become weak points of the system. The reinforcement from individual parts of the precast slabs has to be connected in the area, where a number of stud connectors carry shear force between steel and concrete and where the transversal bending moments are also extreme. Due to the exceptionally favourable properties of UHPC, the application of this material may be a good solution for this highly stressed detail. The shear stress between reinforcement and concrete and its distribution along the anchorage length of the reinforcement are the key parameters for the design of advanced structures made of UHPC with emphasis on their reliability and long-term durability. The dimensions of the joint could be significantly reduced and the high per-formance material can transfer high stresses in the area of the joint. Therefore UHPC was designed to fill the joint of the precast slabs, but it was necessary to design sufficient anchorage length of reniforcement-dimension of the joint. It is known that the bond of reinforcement in UHPC is better than that in ordinary concrete, but this bond needs to be quanti-fied.
