This problem is very common, especially at older buildings. It does not avoid either new building or historic buildings that belong to our historic national heritage and it is necessary to protect them. Moisture can penetrate into building and its materials through several ways, but the result is always the same. The penetration of moisture into a structure means problems when the water penetrates there however. Excessive water causes mechanic, physical, chemical or biological problems. It can penetrate as a liquid or as a vapour. The penetration as a vapour is common for all structures except basements and other underground structures. We would like to add from this grant results as many values of the properties of historic bricks as it is possible."@en .
