"The test device measures the lifting forces of underground water on horizontal and vertical (i.e. foundations and basement walls). Setting of the device needs a minimal destructive impact on the structure, which is a great advantage especially in case of historic and heritage structures. The device is inserted into the core diameter 14 mm drilled through the structure and fixed by the compressible sleeve effect (after drilling through the structure generally the inrush of underground water occurs). The device consists of 4 parts (lower and middle parts, pressure gauge and sealing closure). Lower part is a duralumin tube, length 45 mm and diameter 14 mm, fixed by the compressible sleeve effect to the structure, which is caused by elastic compression of the rubber sleeve during screwing of the middle part on the top of the lower part. Middle part is a duralumin hexagonal tube, length 50 mm and diameter 14 mm, with threads at the ends for screwing on the lower part and pressure gauge or sealing closure. Another advantage is that there can be unlimited number of devices set in the structure sealed by the sealing closures and measuring can be performed only by one pressure gauge when middle part with sealing closure is replaced by the other middle part with pressure gauge. After measuring of the underground water pressure the middle part with pressure gauge is replaced by the other middle part with sealing closure. If there is a need to restore the structure, pressure grouting through the middle part is made and then the middle part is dismounted and local facelift follows. This way of measuring of the underground water pressure, incl. restoring, is minor-destructive which is great advantage in case of historic and heritage structures."@en .
