"Method for the preparation of aluminium oxide, based on the irradiation of the solutions containing aluminium ions (concentration 0.001 to 1 mol/l) and OH scavenger by mercury lamp UV light (radiative power 40 to 160 W) or by accelerated electron beam with energy 1 to 6 MeV to a dose of 40 to 140 kGy. In the irradiated solutions, transparent or white gelatinous phase is produced and separated by ultrafiltration. After thorough washing by water and ethanol, the solid phase (compacted by the process of filtration) is dried at the temperatures up to 100 \u00B0C, yielding white powder. The powder is then heat treated at 500 to 1000 \u00B0C to obtain \u03B3-Al2O3 modification or at temperatures over 1200 \u00B0C to obtain \u03B1-Al2O3 modification."@en .
