The aim of tests was a simulation of reactor conditions, i.e., a combination of slow strain rate and high temperature in different environment. The set of seven failed small tensile specimens was sent for fractographic analysis. The main goal of this analysis was an identification and description of failure mechanisms taking place during slow strain rate (SSR) tests of 316L stainless steel. An influence of different testing conditions (i.e. temperature, pressure, oxygen content and strain rate) on failure mechanism was also under the fractographic investigation."@en .
