The aim of this research was to verify the most important characteristics quantifying the corrosion behaviour of the studied alloys especially in the media containing chloride ions. By the slow strain rate testing, the resistivity against mechanical stress and aggressive media (CaCl2, CaCl2+FeCl3 etc.) was monitored. For comparison, the same tests were carried out in inert medium (glycerol). Microfractographic analysis of failed test bodies was conducted: by the light and scanning electron microscopy, failure mechanisms, corrosion mechanisms, degradation types and processes were studied.
