The focused Er:YAG laser radiation, for the case of free-running or Q-switched pulses, respectively, was delivered on sections of extracted human incisor and premolars by a cyclic olefin polymer-coated silver hollow glass waveguide (700 um inner diameter). GRADIA(R) DIRECT (GC, Japan) LoFlo Light-Cured, high viscosity flowable HDR microfilled hybrid composite was used for restorations. The pulse length and intensity of the Er:YAG laser radiation had direct influence on the quality not only of the surface structure but also on the bond to restorative material. In the case of long pulse treatment, the large retentive surfaces with the sealed dentinal tubules were found.
