There arises changes it the ability to perceive stimuli from the environment and respond to them appropriately. If a senior is at home alone for most of the time due to reduced physical performance, then there become less and less stimuli forcing him to use cognitive functions sufficiently. Therefore, we are searching for some new stimulation methods, e.g. in a form of computer games for training cognitive activities. Created exercises can be divided into 3 groups: the first consists of basic math or language tasks, the second offers a variety of puzzles, crosswords etc. and the last one contains games, which don't put demands on memory, rather than on logical thinking (e.g. Sudoku). The exercises must be reasonably complex and respect user's current level, in order to be attractive and helpful. It varies in time: short-term fluctuation is associated with tiredness and long-term corresponds to a degree of cognitive deficit. Tasks must adapt its difficulty. Here we can use some algorithms of A.I., which will create a user model and then apply it to design a task of an appropriate complexity. With a using of exercises can be detected and recorded long-term individual progress of level of sensory activities, which helps to an objective diagnosis. The post will describe several prototype exercises and games and a way how they are being used experimentally in institutions assisting persons with handicaps or after stroke."@en .
