"A circuit was designed and fabricated that converts amplitude-modulated optical signal (on-off keying) to high-power pulses for driving an external laser diode. In conjunction with the diode a converter is formed that translates the pulse signal from one wavelength in II. or III. window to another wavelength. The circuit is DC coupled and exhibits setting of decision level and output pulse amplitude. Its signal path exploits standard LVDS levels which enables an FPGA circuit with digital signal filter to be inserted. The signal outputs through an SMA connector to which a standard laser-diode mount with modulation input can be attached. Analog part exploits operational amplifiers which should ensure sufficient stability of parameters."@en .
