"The system is composed of batery powered analogue electronics, Matlab script for calculation of calibration constants and software for data acquisition, processing and online display of the measured distance. The electronics powers air-core coil and processes signals from probe composed of three orthogonal ferrite-core coils in three separate channels. After digitization these signals are processed by NI LabView software that displays online graphs of measured signals and their recalculation to distance and stores the data on disc. Probes are implanted on stomach wall and their leads go through skin to the electronics outside. The system enables more precise determination of the distance not so much dependent on perfect alignment of them.
