"This work deals with the numerical simulation of fluid flow in the unbaffled vessel focusing on the creation of the vortex on the free surface. The vessel is stirred by impeller with three curved blades with particular geometry and with pitched-six blade impeller. CFD program ANSYS FLUENT is used for the simulations. Steady flow regime is assumed. SST k-omega and Reynolds Stress turbulent models are used for the simulation of turbulence and MRF approach is used for simulation of impeller motion. VOF model is used to solve multiphase flow. In the case of mixing with three blade impeller softness network the sensitivity analyses of mesh density was performed. Higher rotation speeds of 200, 250 and 300 rpm are set to establish a large central vortex. Further experiments were carried out with the same geometry and results were compared. It was verified from the results, that the use of two-equations model in this case is not appropriate. Despite the good convergence the resulting vortex shape was not correct. Realistic shape has been achieved, despite the worse convergence, using the Reynolds-Stress model. Comparison of vortex shaped obtained by simulation with experiment was also carried out with axial pitched six-blade impeller. Also in this case, the results agree well."@en . "2"^^ .
