"The article is focused on presenting a new Quality Scheduling Index which can help managers in producing and delivering goods to the customers according to their quality requirements and time deliverables. The index is combining the required level of quality of the products and the Just-In-Time production schedule, which a company should maintain in order to deliver the requested products by the market. The authors present a new managerial tool which can be used to assess, control and improve the manufacturing process by reducing manufacturing time and increasing the quality of the products. This offers a new perspective on the consumer\u2019s safety and their requested level of qualitative products and forces the management to consider customers and their satisfaction level, starting with the manufacturing process of the goods. The Quality Scheduling Index is then partially implemented in a Romanian middle size manufacturing company and results are analyzed. An increase in average of 27% in time better consumption of the available time is obtained corroborated with a 6% increase in the production of qualitative products with zero defects.
