"This paper deals with the evaluation of the properties of spray coating method PVD on tool steel and zinc-coated tungsten carbide coatings. Evaluated properties are CrN coating deposited directly on the substrate and the duplex coating deposited on plasma nitrided layer. Further layers are evaluated Ti and Cr dip coating deposited on WC or Al2O3. The results showed that nitriding layer has a positive effect on the hardness and adhesion of the coating. PVD coating is able to close open pores in size corresponding to its thickness.
