"The piping line prepared for measurement of hydraulic losses consists of storage tank and piping containing two recirculation loops, which can be connected separately using two three-way valves. The piping is plastic (PVC-U) and its nominal diameter is DN40 and DN50. Different piping parts can be built into the piping line thank to threaded couplings connecting particular parts of the pipeline. A newly developed static mixer is a part of this functional model. A centrifugal pump EBARA possessing max. discharge head 40 m of water gauge and max. flow rate 40 m3/h is used in the pipeline to pump the liquid from the storage tank through the piping. Desired flow rate and pressure in the pipeline can be adjusted by control of rotation speed of the pump using a frequency converter and by adjustment of butterfly valve controlled by DC electromotor which is placed in the return piping. From the viewpoint of measurement and instrumentation, the pipe line is equipped with pressure sensor at the output of the pump, sensor for temperature measurement, differential pressure sensor enabling measurement of the pressure difference at the static mixer or other parts of piping, level sensor used for measurement of the height of a liquid level in the storage tank, and finally the electromagnetic flowmeter."@en .
