"In the current project, a control was implemented of a supercharged CI engine IVECO F4A. It is a predictive control of the engine speed with the concurrent application of the upper limit of the turbocharger speed, under the impact of a loading torque generated by means of a dynamometer brake Dynast, which is a part of the test bed. The necessary interface for the application of the developed control strategy was represented by a control unit Morpheus, which handled sensed signals (engine and turbocharger speed, intake manifold pressure among others) and action signals (for the fuel pedal and the actuator of a turbocharger wastegate). The actual control was programmed in MATLAB Simulink. The control strategy was subsequently utilized for the experiment. It is a model-based predictive control utilizing an engine predictive model based on the LOLIMOT algorithm. Antecedent to the proper control, there is a testing stage, when the mentioned predictive model (LOLI-model) of the engine is generated, based on testing measurements, using suitable excitation signals."@en . .
