The technology is applicable to compensate thermally induced linear positioning errors and angular error as well. A position of feed axis is corrected according to calculated value based on mathematical model (thermo-mechanical transfer functions model) using position control systems of machine tool in case of linear positioning errors. Heating elements are used as the actuation mechanism in case of angular errors. Technology was verified on 2 real machine tools. Method is more robust (reliable with untested inputs) and more accurate in comparison with widespread model for prediction of thermally induced displacements based on regression analysis."@en .
