This results in an increase of the flow rate of the fluid in the place of contraction of the flow and in subsequent enhanced generation of noise. This paper is focused mainly on analysis of the working characteristics of a damper in a circular-section duct in terms of generation of noise. This contribution presents results of experimental measurements and analyses of causes of generation of acoustic energy from a circular-section blade in the following cases : normal stop damper with full control blade, control damper with improved control characteristic (dimensional improvement of control blade) and tight damper with improved control (perforated control blade) leading to reduction of radiated acoustic energy at simultaneous reduction of the pressure gradient."@en . .
