The probe measures multispectral extinction of monochromatic light on droplets in steam. The light within the range of wavelength (200 - 1100 nm) transmits through the steam layer. The extinction for the chosen wavelengths of the light is measured be means of the spectral analyzer. The size, concentrations of droplets and subsequently the wetness of steam are evaluated from the measured data with use of Mie's extinction theory.
