"Although there exist modern types of controllers, industry prefers to use PID controllers and their experimental setting, mostly with the use of Ziegler and Nichols rules. There is presented an approach based on use of a set of quality control indicators usually interpreted by means of Nyquist plot. The new idea is to add small oscillation to control error and evaluate its response. The optimal controller setting is obtained thru use of added osciallion frequency changes and proper change of controller parameter values.
