"The paper deals with the result of study of microstructure and mechanical properties of cast low carbon manganese steels. Experimental heats were basic unalloyed steel 19Mn5, 17Mn6 and other microalloyed steels with vanadium (max.0,09wt.%),niobium(max0,09wt.%) a titanium (max0,03wt.%). Austenite grain growth during austenitizing within temperature range of 1000 to 1200oC was investigated with the intention to optimize temperature of solution annealing.Size distribution of polyedric or acicular ferrite and pearlite after air cooling from chosen temperatures of normalizing ( NT ) and solution heat treatment ( ST ) was determined .
