"Cooled ceiling system is one of the possibilities to condition indoor environment for optimal thermal comfort achievement with low air distribution requirements. Sensible heat gains in rooms are dissipated by large-area water-cooled panels, which are instalated to the soffit of the rooms. Airflow, which is supplied into the room, can be reduced to minimal amount of the fresh air. Theoretically, the radiant heat transfer between body and surroundings is preferable than convection heat transfer in the view of thermal comfort achieving andenergy consumption. On the other side, the cooled ceiling systems are relatively capital-intensive. Paper deals with advantages and disadvantages of radiant cooled ceiling application.
