Members used on bridges are additionally subjected to effects of cyclic traffic loads. Both dynamic wind load and traffic loading are major factors causing high-cycle fatigue of civil engineering structures. At this time, no global research in area of tension bar systems is being conducted. The experimental in-situ measuring on the stays of Troja bow-string arch bridge is underway. The aim of the experiment is to get a representative sample of measurement for determination behaviour and boundary restraining conditions of stays made from tension bar systems. Uncertainty exists in the accuracy of the value of logarithmic decrement of the damping. Currently it is possible to obtain values for cables but not as easy for tension bar systems."@en . .
