The presented method rests on employing the concept of Wang tilings in a microstructure modelling. The reference microstructure is compressed in a set of Wang tiles, tetraminoe-like pieces, allowing for stochatic generation of microstructural samples of arbitrary sizes. The tiles are designed automaticaly from the given reference microstructure with an emphasis on proximity of reconstructed and reference media in the sense of statistical descriptors. The second part of the paper presents two distinct homogenization procedures suitable for a medium discretized by finite elements. As an illustrative example aluminium foam Alporas\u00AE was choosen. The adopted structural representation by means of prismatic beams and its capacity with respect to numerical results is discussed."@cs . "Brno" . . "Brno" . . . "38211" . . . .
