"The paper deals with possible utilisation of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) with the structure composed just by four constituents (recycled aggregate, cement, synthetic fibres and water). Fibre reinforced concrete with this composition is a completely new approach to utilisation of construction recycled materials. The proportioning of components in the design of FRC is limited due to economical reasons (technology and production). The limit for binder is the minimal amount (260 kg/m3 according to \u010CSN EN 206-1) providing consistency of aggregate grains and synthetic fibres. The amount of water is given by demands on workability and compaction of concrete by rolling and tamping. Recycled aggregate is not divided to particular grain sizes and the dose of recycled aggregate equals the amount of aggregate packed by vibration that fills up the concreted volume. Dosage of fibres is governed by required characteristics; tensile properties above all. The contribution presents a number of experiment results that characterize the FRC composite. Several tests are presented focused on optimization of components, especially binder and fibres aiming to minimization of the cost of production of FRC composite. Proposals for practical utilization of the composite are shown (dams, dikes). Thanks to these applications and proposed mixture composition a big amount of recycled material would be consumed what is advantageous for sustainable development and management with natural resources."@en .
