The first program was created in MATLAB environment. The program computerises the design of concrete mix composition according to Kennedy method. Based on the information entered (cement type, aggregate grain distribution curve, characteristics of aggregate quality etc.), resulting concrete mix composition is calculated. The second utility was created in Microsoft Excel environment and belongs to the series of tools for design of masonry structures according to Eurocode 6 that the authors are working on in the long term scope. This utility is dedicated to calculation of bending moments in the joint between masonry wall and reinforced concrete slab. Calculation method can be selected based on the stiffness of the joint. The calculation is based on appendix C of \u010CSN EN 1996-1-1, but in several cases corrections are made or recommendations are given as a result of finite element analysis of typical detail of wall-slab joint concluded by the authors. The programs are available for free on the websites of the authors and their primary purpose is educational one. The aim is to help the students of Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague to better understand the principle and procedure of the calculation as well as the sensitivity of results to changes in input parameters. Both the programs are also useful for practical design, designers and technologists can use them. The paper explains the given topic and presents functions of both programs."@en .
