"The dissertation thesis is a critical study of a use of numerical models on water flow and solute transport within a porous media and the application of the models in engineering praxis. The main emphasis is given to the water regime of natural heterogeneous soils that exhibit preferential flow and to representative parameterization of the hydraulic characteristics of these soils. Although the numerical simulation models are of a great help in practical applications, the problem of identification of spatialy variable input inforamtion still remains. Another discussed issue is the estimation of representative elementary volume of heterogeneous soils and upsacaling of the hydraulic characteristics with the help of electric resistivity tomography and inverse optimalization."@en . .
