Tendency to detect possible degradation process early enough leads to do monitoring of the Cathedral load bearing structure. The displacements between monitoring points were detected during monitoring. It was expected that measured displacements are caused by the thermal expansion of the structure. This was the reason to make the theoretical analysis of computation displacements with the influence of solar radiation. By the comparing theoretical and measured values of displacements it was detected that measured values of displacements are caused mainly by thermal expansion of the structure. One part of this paper is about the stress analysis of the Saint Vitus Cathedral bearing system caused by the temperature changes, which can cause the origin of the cracks in this bearing system."@en .
