"During the design procedure of a new model of CSO (Combined Sewer Overflow) chamber, several different geometries were modelled using CFD in Fluent. A hydraulic model made of plexiglass was then set up and flow field in symmetry plane was measured using Ultrasonic Doppler Anemometry. Comparison of CFD model with measurements showed sufficient agreement in most cases. Later, one version of the model was simulated using various mathematical turbulence models. Horizontal and vertical components of velocity in symmetry plane were then compared. Results show significant differences among models, but no model was dramatically better than others. All models were able to resolve general flow pattern, however, exact values differed greatly from reality, especially in case of vertical component of velocity."@en . . . "2006-06-07+02:00"^^ .
