"The FENS Featured Regional Meeting 2013, organized by the Czech Neuroscience Society, the Slovak Society for Neuroscience and the Austrian Alzheimer Society, was held in Prague, Czech Republic, from September 11th to 14th, 2013. Over 600 registered participants, representing 60 countries from North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia, including almost 260 students, enjoyed a broad and varied scientific program covering many important areas of contemporary neuroscience research. The program featured 4 plenary lectures (delivered by Helmut Kettenmann, James Fawcett, Karel Svoboda and Irina Alafuzoff), the EJN Best Publication Award Lecture, 18 symposia, 6 oral communication sessions and 6 special interest sessions featuring many of the world\u2019s leading experts. In total, there were over 500 abstracts accepted for presentation, including 355 posters, and with the generous support of FENS, NENS, the IBRO Alumni Committee, the Czech Neuroscience Society and the Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe Regional Committees of IBRO, 92 travel stipends were awarded to deserving students and young researchers."@en .
