Fatigue cracks initiated along strain localized areas and crack linking was the main mechanism of the early crack growth. Two different regimes in short crack growth were identified. The early regime of linear growth is characterized by the constant crack growth rate. Later, the crack growth rate is directly proportional to the crack length.
