"In this article is described and evaluated the link between precipitation, runoff, and loss of potassium and sodium ions in the closing profile of a small mountain basin predominantly covered by spruce forest during the period from 2002 to 2009. It was found that extremely high sodium losses from the watershed are closely related to precipitation extremes. In contrast, the annual loss of potassium is not as strongly linked to the annual rainfall. In 2010, the mechanism of water flow in the soil during rain event and in a warm and dry period was studied. It was found that, during heavy rains infiltrated water first displaces the soil water with increased content of potassium ions, then predominantly rain water releases the soil and then mix of the two waters with decreasing rain water content. Prolonged dry and warm period usually leads to a reduction in the potassium ion, as it is extracted from the soil water to transpirated plants."@en . "Vondrka, A." . .
